BMO 200 FOUNTAIN:
Wish it forward
Collaborating with Mosaic and Thinkingbox, I had the privilege of contributing to The Bank of Montreal's commemoration of its 200th anniversary by orchestrating a remarkable gesture for the communities it serves. This gesture took the form of a towering, waterless fountain—a captivating 17-foot kinetic sculpture adorned with over 50,000 stock ticker flip dots, emitting a gentle synchronized melody from a floating chrome cantilever.
While the fountain commanded attention as a stunning piece of art, its true marvel lay in its interactive functionality. Attendees could toss digital coins into the fountain from their paired devices, making heartfelt wishes for others. This innovative concept transcended physical boundaries, with multiple fountains touring Canada and online participation spanning three countries. Serving as the focal point of a cross-platform, year-long campaign, the BMO200 Fountain facilitated a collective effort to "wish it forward," as tens of thousands of wishes were submitted digitally, and we collaborated with BMO to select those to be granted.
